The Lower Secondary programme caters to students from Year 7 to Year 9. Our curriculum is built upon the British National Curriculum. With a strong emphasis on our core values, our educational approach aims to promote international mindedness, nurture critical-thinking skills, and cultivate global citizenship.
Students will enhance their proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. They will develop critical thinking skills, the ability to analyse and evaluate texts, and effective communication skills. The curriculum also focuses on expanding vocabulary, understanding grammar and syntax, and interpreting literary texts. Additionally, students will develop the skills needed to express themselves fluently and coherently, as well as to engage with a variety of literary genres and styles. Through this comprehensive English language study, students will acquire the essential language skills and knowledge needed to excel academically, to communicate effectively in a global context and reach their academic expectations.
The Secondary Mathematics programme is designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of the subject. Students will develop mathematical competence and fluency in computation, which they can apply to everyday situations. The curriculum emphasizes the development of skills in Number, Geometry and Measurement, as well as Statistics and Probability. Through engaging lessons and practical applications, students will enhance their ability to solve problems, reason logically, and think critically. They will also develop a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills, enabling them to approach real-world challenges with confidence and analytical thinking.
The Secondary Science programme aims to cultivate students' critical thinking and practical skills, alongside knowledge and understanding, which are essential for comprehending the world around us. By fostering an awareness of science in this way, students develop a sense of personal connection to the subject and its relevance to their lives. This approach equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their future academic endeavors and make informed decisions related to sustainability and environmental challenges.
